Oscar Wilde’s Most Popular Epigrams

Oscar Wilde's Most Popular Epigrams

“We all assume that Oscar said it.” – and half the time, the attribution was probably true.

There’s nothing quite as sharp as a well-versed one liner to summarize whatever longing, realization, or instance that happens upon you with such impact that it makes you pause long enough to make an utterance about, well, life. And most of the time, Oscar comes to the rescue. 11 decades after his death, his epigrams – what I erstwhile refrerred to as “quotes” are still a favorite, especially with the 140-character-driven medium. My personal favorite, of course, is everyone else’s too:

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
