Zamba

So finally, I get to have a summer vacation! And I get to do it in steady San Antonio, Zambales. We stayed in a mainland resort but visited two islands via boat and cheerful spirits.

The aftermath of this weekend getaway is burned skin and a two-day bout with stomach problems. But also: a clearer mind, long overdue conversations, time to finish Ilustrado, beautiful shells, islands to dream of in my subconscious universe, sunlight to summon when my heart needs warmth, and rest. Blissful rest.

“It’s easy to run, it’s hard to run away. The mind is willing but the heart is weak.” – thoughts totally unrelated to this post, but thoughts formed in the duration of this reflective moment.
